The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Markant AG received a special award at the academic annual ceremony of Offenburg University of Applied Sciences.

Franz-Friedrich Müller, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Markant AG, has been awarded the title of Honorary Senator by Offenburg University of Applied Sciences in recognition of his many years of cooperation with the university and his commitment to education, social issues and sustainability. Stephan Trahasch, Rector of Offenburg University of Applied Sciences, paid tribute to the great commitment of entrepreneur Franz-Friedrich Müller during the university's annual academic ceremony.

The Markant Group maintains close ties with Offenburg University of Applied Sciences and supports it through membership of the Board of Trustees, prizes, scholarships and sponsorship, among other things. Its long-standing commitment includes the endowed professorship in ‘Analytics and Data Science’, which has been in existence since 2019. Last year, a six-figure donation from the Markant Group enabled Offenburg University of Applied Sciences to set up a modern learning environment for its students in the foyer of the A building – with a Spanish staircase, innovative lounge furniture, interactive whiteboards and much more.

The honouring of Franz-Friedrich Müller as Honorary Senator of Offenburg University of Applied Sciences further strengthens this deep connection between the company and the university. As part of Offenburg University of Applied Sciences' annual celebration, a panel discussion was also held on the topic of ‘coopetition’ – the interplay between cooperation and competition. The discussion, moderated by Kai Wißmann, included Mark Michaelis, Managing Director of Markant Group, among others.
