A congress highlight was the panel discussion on the following subject "Has the zeitgeist really taken leave of its senses?" with Dr. Klaus von Dohnanyi, lawyer and former first mayor of Hamburg, Dr. Antonia Rados, political scientist, war and crisis reporter, and Prof. Rudolf Hickel, finance scientist and economist, head of research at the Institut für Arbeit u. Wirtschaft (IAW) of Bremen University.

The main topic of the Markant Members Congress in Munich was «Zeitgeist – caught between tradition and change». What impact new paradigms and increasing complexity have on society in different areas of life and activity was explained by chosen experts.

The zeitgeist is currently characterised by superlatives and contradictions. Markant addressed this issue together with the senior management of its retail partners at the Members Congress that was held from 30 June to 1 July at the Bayerischer Hof in Munich.
